For decades, the rescue cruisers of the German Rescue Society Castaway (DGzRS) and the Sea King helicopter from the German Navy have been in search and rescue service (Search and Rescue = SAR) in all weather in the North Sea and the Baltic. Since its creation over 150 years ago, DGzRS's work has been financed exclusively with donations.
